This in-ground fence was very simple to install. The directions are easy to read and comprehend. I like that the remote is small and can fit in my pocket. My dog responded to his new boundaries pretty quickly. It took a few days for him to realize he couldn't run past the fence. It really is a nice system and I am glad I installed it.
My husband use to install invisible fencing like this and said this product was easy to install. It works. It is a learning curve for pet, but he is getting it now. It takes training, but effective at keeping pet in a secure area. I wish it covered a larger area.
I got this for my dog right after we moved. He’s not used to being on a street, so I was afraid of what he would do. With this system we haven’t had any issues. It was very easy to install since my yard isn’t very big (a little over half an acre) and while it took some time getting my dog used to it, so far we are doing well! I love that there was a lot of the cable and the collar didn’t weigh him down/seem huge on a smaller sized dog.
The basic in ground fence system comes with everything you need to keep your beloved per in your yard. The instructions for installing are clear and easy to understand.
We have been looking for something like this but wasn’t sure what to buy. I’m so glad that we tried this and it works perfect! Thankfully we have not had any issues and the collar didn’t seem to bother our fur baby at all. I’ve told so many of my friends about this and I think a few of them have already ordered one lol.
Very easy to install, and covers the whole yard. Works great, and collar fits my dog perfectly. It will be easy to train my puppy to stay in the yard. Works great for in town where we have close neighbors. I have a border collie who is a quick learner so I think this will quickly teach her the yard perimeters. Definitely recommend for anyone but especially for people who live in town.
We set this up to keep our dog safe and away from the street and it works just as it should. Setup was easy and it was up and running in no time I recommend this to anyone looking to safeguard their dogs and keep them in the yard.
This is a great product for you if you have a pet dog. This fence set is very easy to set up. It is marvelous. It helps you control how far your pet can travel in your own private space. I love it because my dog can stay close to my home and I can let her out and knowing to that she will stay on my premises. The collar helps her stay in her spot. There’s no worries knowing you can let your pet outside. It’s easy to install. It started working the first time we installed it. It comes with everything you need and I love it that you can expand it up to 5 acres. It gives your pet more room to play and roam.
this is a good product to keep dogs in the yard . It is easy to assembly and the installation is easy as well .I would definitely recommend this product to friends and family to try for them selves and share their experiences with others.
This ungrounded fence has helped training my dogs to stay in the yard a lot easier. I have 3 larger breed dogs who recently decided they wanted to become explorers. They were scaling my 6 foot fence without any issue. After a few times getting too close to the perimeter fence they learned not to do that again.
The fence was easy to install and took less than a Saturday to install fully.
This fence is great for someone whose never had one before, I loved that it had different choices to pick from doe starting out. The training function was a big help for teaching my dog the boundaries he had. It was really easy to install and is so nice to have that extra comfort when letting my dog out.
We have a German Shepherd that always wants to be where we are and we wanted this underground electric fence for our front yard where we don’t have a fence. The installation of the fence is pretty easy however the digging around the yard perimeter took us a whole day and our front yard is small. I would recommend doing it a couple days after a rain so your ground is softer. We have been working on training our pup for the last week and she is figuring it out pretty fast however with her having a strong prey drive I don’t think I would trust her outside by herself.
Living in the country this comes in handy, we used this to extend ours. Simply follow instructions and you can have it done in no time. It only took us a couple hours of working together to have it set it. It takes time and training for your dog or dogs to get use to it and learn their new boundaries, but so worth the time to keep them safe and on your own property. It comes with one receiver, so if you have more dogs just purchased more and you are good to go. To me this is a must have for any dog owner. Keeping your pet safe is worth it all. The collar is waterproof so there is no need to keep taking it off and putting it on when they come back inside.
I am using this to run a perimeter around my house so the dog does not chase deer, cars, people, etc. It was very easy to install. Although burying the wire is timely, it is now out of sight! The perimeter was marked with the flags around so the dog knows its boundaries. This has various settings, which is also easy to adjust! The dog is catching on quickly, I believe because the flags! I would definitely recommend this product for any dog owner!
This is just what we needed. We wanted to be able to contain our dogs but not have a barrier you could see and this fulfilled our needs. It's easy. Plot out where you want it, bury it in the ground. Mark it with the flags so your dog has a visual barrier. Put on the collar and all your dog to learn the limits. It works really well and we are very satisfied.
We recently got a dog and wanted to have a fence system. We received this from the company and it does exactly what we were hoping for. It works flawlessly and it was very easy to install. It took us about an hour. I would recommend this to others looking for a simliar fence for their pets.
I have 4 unruly pitbulls and 4 small dogs all.escape artists. This fencing system is the best. Super easy to install and works like a charm. So far so good, no escapes and everyone has learned their boundaries. This system has been a life saver LITERALLY, WITH THE ROAD I LIVE ON.
We got a puppy from a rescue group about 6 months ago. This fence system has saved me from rehoming him. We found out after adoption that he is a good bit beagle, which are known to be escape artists. We have a fully fenced in backyard and he escaped almost daily, despite our numerous attempts to keep him in. He somehow continually escaped with a full cone on, we still haven't figured out how he did it. But this is the first thing that has worked. We zip tied the wire to the bottom and top rail of the fence and he hasn't escaped since we installed it a week ago. We have never kept him in the backyard for more than a day. I really was about to rehome him, so thank you Pet SAFE!!!
I installed my in ground fence many years ago. I have had no trouble with the fence itself. I have however ran through five of the transmitters. They only seem to have a 2 to 3 year life. But the fence gives my dogs a Lab and a Akita 3 acres to run on so it is definitely worth every dime.
We purchased this fence for our active Border Collie and the training is going well. She's now responding to the boundaries of our yard. It took us the weekend to install around our entire acre. We got a complete loop on our first try. Now we'll see how it does in over a foot of snow. :-)
We adopted a dog about a year ago. First thing we did was look for a fence as we do not want to leash our dog. We have several acres and wanted her to be there with us when we were outside. It was easy to train our dog and has worked well. She also does not mind wearing the collar.
My husband recently did some regrading of our yard and we did have a septic issue recently too. Whatever, now the fence is not working. Guess we have to order more wire and rewire the yard.
install is a little hard but I rented a cable trencher and it made it a lot easier to put in the ground.. after installed, take time to train the dog and it works very well.. if you live next to a busy road this keeps your dog out of the road... WORKS VERY WELL
This has been the best week out of 4 months we have had with our new dog since installing this fence. She has plenty of area to roam and can't get herself into trouble (digging). She minds her boundaries and we now have piece of mind letting her out that she won't run away.
If you have a small yard, installation is relatively easy. Bigger yards - a little more work. The instructions are easy to follow. It didn't take our dog long to become trained to its boundaries.
We bought the fence about a month ago and it saved our dogs from going to the pound. We couldn't keep them in our back yard. Started searching for a solution. Came across your fencing product. Called your company they suggested the in ground fence since we have a metal clad building . We purchased the basic kit plus a stubborn collar for the second larger dog. Took a few hours to temporarily install around the back yard fence. WOW what a difference within minutes our dogs had a changed attitude. We plan to enlarged their yard in the spring for their enjoyment and the ability to guard the home. Thank you for such a great product and for saving our family.
It really did not work for me (nothing wrong on your part) because the dog I purchased it for is so active that to him it was just an itch to move that much faster to scratch it. It's the pet really. It worked very well for my larger pet, but the smaller one, nah.
I actually did not believe in the shock collars only because I don’t like to cause harm to my dogs. But ever since I moved to South Carolina I have more than acre of property and it would cost me a small fortune to fence it in. So after reading every review I decided to give it a shot. Before I fired up the tractor to make a trench around my entire property to bury the line 1st I laid it out with the flags and I gave it a shot. Surprisingly I actually did not have to do any training on the first setting where it gives the warning and the shock. After two times of her trying to cross the line she realized that she does not like that feeling now I have mine hooked up to a iHome plug. To where I can turn it on and off from my phone. So she knows when I say with me she is able to walk over the line without getting a shot After about a week I have had the collar off of her now for two days and she still does not cross that line unless I tell her she can. So overall I am extremely happy with the product even with the price.. because even if I wanted to just dance in a small section of my yard and if I did it myself it would’ve still costed me close to $700 for me to just buy the fence and the posts. I bought this kit and I got an extra Roll of wire and was able to cover my entire property. However I do recommend getting beware of dog signs that say they are contained by an invisible fence. Because my Fed ex guy would not even come near my front door even though she can’t get past the edge of my house..
We have used the wireless system with my two large dogs for a smaller yard. We installed this on our 1 1/2 acre yard and it is great! Easy to install with a little Labor. Thebdogs learned quickly and ate loving the outdoors. We are so happy we installed ourselves instead of paying thousands for a company.
I have had my containment in ground fence for several years and have had no problems with it at all. I live just off a busy road with a large yard. The system protects my animals from being ran over
I have a Greman Shothair pointer and he is three now we have had this fence for two years and it has work to perfection After they get zapped a few times they learn that when the collar starts to beep bad things will happen and they will go no farther my Short hair wil stop as soon as the collar starts to beep every time this is a great product thanks Petsafe.
We have a Bearded Collie and a Catahoula. Our neighbors have a small Pit and an a Blue Healer. The 4 had a habit of running the fence and barking like crazy at each other. We bought a wireless fence kit and strung it all around our yard, through the fence and put collars on both our dogs. They did not go near the fence.
The neighbors kept running the fence. They bought the same wireless kit and put collars on both their dogs. It worked like a charm.
We no longer have to worry about our dogs chasing each other up and down the fence and barking like crazy. We love it!
The ONLY change I would like to see is a way to put a new battery in the screw top part instead of having to buy a whole new RFA-67 screw top/battery combo each time the battery runs out.
We purchased our fence system in 2009. It has been on everyday since! We have never had a problem except after about 3 years the collar receiver went bad and we bought a new one. The only other problem is we had breaks in our wire where some rabbit or something chewed it and we had to splice it. This is November 2014 and I am ordering new wire because ours has been spliced so much. And by the way our Transmitter is still working fine!! The best and easiest way to keep our very, very problem dog at home!!
This fence was so simple, took about 2 hours to dig the line, put it in, and hook it up. I have a 1 1/2 yr old lab, and a 8 month old pit bull and both caught on first hour or so. They both went through it once, and each haven't since. We have had family come, other animals pass by, people walking, ect and they wont go through. They love being free and are Two Complete different Dogs. 10/10 for sure!!
works great- great directions- and even easy to how to train your dog guide I highly recommend following. I have a pit bull ,so she had it figured out the first day with no static needed . Just wish it came with two collars :)
Great product, this basic in ground fence is great to train your dog of Foundries where they can and can’t go, overall this took us 5 hours to do, I would take a whole weekend to plan where you want it and have everything ready and install a separate day. Depending on your dog size the collar will have different levels you will have to adjust. After being installed our dog now knows her boundaries and doesn’t go near the areas of the fence she was scared at first but now 2 weeks later she is comfortable with it. We used about 4 acres worth and done around our garden to we are pleased with the outcome and definitely recommend it
Great for correcting the behavior of my dog that tries to dig under the fenced backyard to escape. This basic in ground fence includes 500 feet of wire which is enough for 1/3 of an acre. More wire can be purchased to add on the the existing. It comes with one collar but other collars can be purchased as well. The installation is kind of tedious trying to figure out the spots to not correct her so she can cross over them with ease for example going into the yard from the house. This fence wire has to make a full circuit. It also takes some training especially for my dog which is very stubborn but I feel like she’ll learn where the boundaries are and it’ll be a great asset.
This is my 2nd in ground fence and so far so good. The only thing I don't like about it is it seems like the weather plays a factor in the loop staying in contact. If I have it set on 3 the light flickers on and off, or at times stays off. When I set it to a higher number say 6 the loop indicator stays on. Happens on cold and humid days. Not sure why this is/
I installed this (1,300') myself (76 years old). While installing it I had a question. The representative was knowledgeable, courteous and sharp. With her assistance, the system worked the first time. It quickly convinced our little dog to stay at home.
Two suggestions:
1. I would have liked for the burying instructions to be very specific. I cut the circuit (it was my fault while doing some digging). I requested information about burying depth and received a very clear and prompt answer very promptly (that is one reason I will remember this company when recommending to others (I have told two others).
2. I would prefer that the wire be heavier. Since I do aerate my lawn, I am going to rebury a new heavier line, deeper (4"). The wire is not that expensive...the trencher rental is the largest expenditure, but it is worth it.
Works great with our existing fence, but was a hassle to install
We have an existing wooden privacy fence that my two lab mixes would regularly tear up and escape from. We tried various different things and this was a last resort. Now that it is installed, it is great and works like a charm. We still can't leave the gate open because they will buzz right through the shock, so if we didn't have the fence, I do not think this product would have worked for us. Install was confusing at first and a hassle. The existing fence made it much easier so I feel sorry for those who must bury all that wire. I simply attached the wire directly to our fence and only had to bury it where the gates open. I am a satisfied customer because the dogs no longer can get within 2 feet from the fence and they have stayed safely in the yard.
in ground fence works well but the Collars are cheap and the buckles break
I put in in-ground fence around 3 acres in about 4 hours. do not put wire in areas that hold water, three inches of standing water will stop signal and allow dogs to cross that area.
I bough a total of five collars and 3 of the collars had to be replaced, the plastic buckles broke. The collars are light weight and do not hold up.
I have purchased 4 of these collars as compared to an old collar that is 10 years old and still works this newer model with special batteries does not last long
We had to have the collar replaced about 6 months after purchasing the fence. Thankfully the company replaced it.
Then just a month ago, our transmitter stopped working. We thought it was a dead battery in the collar, but have since discovered it is a dead transmitter. Now our dog is getting into our neighbors yard and the road! As I now see from some of the other reviews, this is pretty common for the thing to last 1 year....which ours is just about that old.
As with another review, we have used our fence for approximately 13 months and it has quit working and we are also plugged into a surge protector. May have to try a different brand because keeping our large bloodhound in a fence is a necessity. It was fabulous while it worked.
This system worked great at first, was very easy to install and train the dog. The battery on the Collar doesn't last very long at all. After less than a year, the box inside the garage stopped working. The light won't come on and the system just stopped working.
Our Neighbors got the same system and installed in shortly after we got ours after we spoke so highly of our system. Their system also has now stopped working. We are very unhappy with the system especially for the money we paid for it to only work a year!
