Bought the SD-425 collar 5 years ago. It has worked flawlessly. Finally, the battery reached the end of its life and I bought the replacement kit for a new battery. All tools needed were provided. A simple 5 minute installation and the collar was back in business. In our throw-away society, this kind of customer support is not the norm. Good job, SportDog!
Been a fan of this company since 2012. After spending over $300 on various collars to train my two rescued labs of a few bad habits and to be off the physical leash. This was my last resort and boy did it not disappoint! Had the collars since.
A friend of mine needed a collar to train his new pup. I bought new batteries for the remote and collar and it works like new again! He is a believer in Sportdog now also! Thanks for the awesome product guys!
I had issues with my remote after purchasing new batteries & the customer service helped me out tremendously. I ended up needing a new remote, instead i was able to keep the batteries, and ended up purchasing a new unit.
After consulting with the Sport Dog customer service team, I bought a replacement battery for the transponder for the collar I've had for years. It arrived quickly with everything needed to replace and simple instructions. Replacement works great, saved me from being a whole new collar!
Training young livestock guardians to protect chickens is no easy task. The timing of corrections must be exact. The field trainer 425 is the perfect tool for me. It works EXACTLY when I need it to and has a very long range. I highly recommend this product not only because it works when you need it to, but mostly because of the amazing patient staff who are willing to take the time needed to walk you through the programming.
My transmitter has lasted for almost four years - and in rough conditions - I live in Alaska where we are outside daily. In replacing the battery, I believe another foam piece to wrap around the new battery would be a good idea as the old foam does not come off the old battery to reuse.
I have an older collar to be fair - and I love this brand! But after many emails explaining my issues new batteries were suggested and I bought them. Still getting inconsistent sick or ni shock while pushing button on. Fully charged collar
I was going to write that the battery doesn't hold a charge, but when charged it works just fine and for an expected amount of usage. However, I am in the process of my THIRD replacement in 3 years. First a battery, (under 12-month warranty then the transmitter, (bought a new one), and now, 18 months later, buying another battery kit. I love the collars. I would rate the collars 5 stars on their own. (I recommend the SD-425 to anybody and everybody.) I have two coonhounds and we use the collars daily. But having to replace equipment every year is a little tiresome. That is the reason for the low rating on the battery kit.
