Awesome product! It took care of our 2 dogs barking on the second bark. We don't leave it on all of the time, only when the dogs begin to bark. Last week, we recommended the product to one of our neighbors. They ordered one right away and they told us yesterday that it has helped their barking problem immensely.
I have 5 dogs who bark at any and everything. I bought the indoor and outdoor Bark Control and I'm so happy that I did. They all stopped their nonsensical barking immediately. I'm sure it makes my neighbors as well as myself very happy!
We have three dogs and our little rat terrier is a crazy barker. I bought this today and it only took a few barks before she was silent. Unfortunately our middle sized terrier wasn't at all affected by it and our neighbor had a work crew in their yard so he was barking a lot. When he barked all 3 heard it, she took off to hide in the house and our pitbull went to the opposite side of the yard to get away from it. I only left it turned on for maybe 30 minutes at most but now she is afraid to go out in the yard.
If she was our only dog this would have been the perfect solution for her barking issues. Sadly I'm going to have to return it and look for one that operates with a remote.
I didn't think this was going to work, however my yip-yip dog learned not to bark at the door instantly! We've tried everything: Cesar Milan, leash training, water squirts, calm voices, loud voices, baby fences, nothing helped. We are so SO thrilled with this product and the results!
I had the worst barking dog next door that barked 24/7, with the corresponding owners that did not care or what ever. Anyhow this bird house solved the nightmare! Then a few years after moving had another rude dog move in beside me and again this product saved the day. I highly recommend!
Worked on a neighbor's dog years ago. It would constantly bark when I was out doing yard work. Neighbor noticed it and put up a barrier but it had already helped. Just put it up again for little neighbor dog that yaps ALL day long. Quiet now! Thanks!
I bought this because my hounddogs bark at anyone who walks in front of our house (we are close to the road) or our neighbors when they get in their cars. It doesn't bother the people, but it drives us nuts. Well, the first day I got it...bingo! It worked! Now, I don't keep it on because any noise makes it go off, but when my dogs start to bark, I go outside and turn it on. Immediately they stop...well, one keeps barking, but it's not as harsh and she eventually gives up. I love this thing..and it's so cute because it looks like a little birdhouse hanging from our front porch.
I live next door to 4 small non-trained "yappy" dogs. They're cute, but if they even think they see me in my back yard, all of them are at my fence barking non-stop for minutes on end until their owners call them inside to get them to stop barking.
I live on my deck in the summer and it's hard to enjoy when you're being barked at. By June 2015, I'd been putting up with the barking dogs for over a year and decided I was done. I picked this up at my local PetSmart. I placed it about 3 feet off the ground on the trunk of a tree facing their main barking spot at my fence and waited for them to be let out of the house. It was amazing! 3 of the 4 dogs were standing in their usual spot when one let out a bark and all 3 jumped like they'd been poked. After the first few weeks of them getting used to it and "testing it," they are overall more quiet when outside and they all but avoid my fence. Score!
I posted on Facebook last summer about what an awesome product this has been for me and I have had a half dozen friends who have asked me for product details so they could purchase this for their own dogs (and a couple for their neighbors dogs, too. I tried the gentle spray bark collar...which did not work for our dog at all...(he probably liked the smell of citronella! and just bought the outdoor ultrasonic bark control...which in the first day of use curtailed the excessive barking. Not only has our dog stopped being a neighborhood nuisance...but the fact that he no longer works himself into a neurotic lather has made for a much calmer dog. So glad this product exists! Good job PetSafe!
I just moved and had to keep my German Shepard outside in a kennel. (He was an indoor dog at my old house) He barked all nite long and my new neighbors (although I'm out in the country) were complaining..! I bought this birdhouse bark controller (PBC00-11216) and it worked the first night....! Thank you......
I am that neighbour. After 3 years of politely reminding my neighbour that his dog's non-stop barking was unacceptable, and after 3 years of my neighbour not being able to change his dog's behaviour, I took matters into my own hands and I purchased this product. Instant success. The best 70 dollars I have spent in a long time. I only wish I had done it earlier, or even better the dog owner had spent his own money on fixing the problem.
We bought both the indoor and out door unit. Almost as soon as we put the batteries in, this place is much quieter. Hopefully it continues! I am very happy so far!
We have two min pins. The are little yappers. We bought one of these and now I have to physically put one of them outside even when it's off. It works.
I'm really glad that I didn't read these reviews before making the decision to try this product. I have three very vocal dogs, and this product has been highly effective in stopping their outdoor barking. I have no complaints!
Aaaaahhh...peace, quiet. We have a 19 month old German Shepherd - a big dog (100 lbs +) - who is a powerful animal with a powerful bark. He turned into a "barker" at about a year old, and the situation got steadily worse until two weeks ago; when we installed our Outdoor Ultrasonic Bark Control. He barked at everything, people on the street, birds, trees, neighbors, neighbors dogs, his toys, you name it. Now he is quiet; the only exceptions are when something really, really important needs to be barked at. Even then, his barking is brief. We certainly hope that the product significantly outlasts its warranty, if it does then, for us, it's FIVE STARS all the way!
My parents' house is surrounded with dogs that are behind chain-link fences and interested in everything we are doing. Anytime we step outside, we are greeted with all of their non-stop barking. We rarely ate or played outside because of this. A friend of ours told us about this product, so we thought we would give it a shot. It has worked miracles! The dogs show no sign of being in pain, but will bark once or twice and then stop. We have enjoyed our yard so much more, we even got a hot tub and love being outside...now if we could only find a good solution to the mosquitoes!
I got my new dog from the local shelter and didn't realize I had the much dreaded "BARKER" coming to my house. So after 4 months of pure agony I finally checked out what I could do to stop this in a humane manner. I checked the reviews and decided this was the best for my situation. It worked immediately but what I didn't realize the dog must have previously had a shock collar used on him for this problem, so as soon as he heard the correction noise he ran for his life! He hid for most of the day, I felt really bad for him so I think if you use this it would be a good idea to try and know the history on the dog if possible. I'm not an expert but if you get a shelter dog like mine who has a barking problem he or she is probably there because of it and might have had this done to them also. All in all I think with a little understanding and this product he will learn again and I'll be at peace again with our Buddy.
My mother bought me the PBC00-11216 for the three dogs I have and I used it for the first time today, I was amazed at how quick it worked all 3 dogs stopped barking within seconds of it admitting the signal. I couldn't be happier. I have tried other products that I was so disappointed in. Not to mention the birdhouse effect in the backyard is wonder.
I recieved this as a gift and seriously had my doubts that it would work. Now I wouldn't want to be without it. It's amazing. It works! Would highly recommend this product for any barking dog issue.
The neighbor behind us has two very irritatingly loud dogs. I was very skeptical that this device would work at all, but it has proven extremely effective in just a couple of days. These idiot dogs figured out very quickly to stop barking, and I only wish I'd gotten this a long time ago. I highly recommend this....
I have two dogs, an Australian cattle dog and a flat coated retriever. The ACD's barking was becoming problematic due to our yard bordering an alley and children riding bikes and saying hi as they ride. She got to the point of barking at everything and neighbors were getting annoyed. She doesn't like the sound it makes and has learned she can run the fence with the kids but don't bark. She still will bark if someone or something comes up to the fence which I feel is totally appropriate. The retriever could careless about the sound though, luckily he is not the problem child. So like anything it depends totally on the dog and what they find offensive.
I have two standard schnauzers, obedience trained and titled. New people moved in next door with 2 dogs. The yards are separated by a chain link fence. Every time mine would be out (always with us the other dogs would charge the fence snarling and barking. Which turned into fence running and fence fighting with our two. For two months I kept mine on leash if the other dogs were outside, but last week they began leaving them out all day long while they are at work. A trainer friend of mine recommended this product so I bought one. It's been 6 days now and the fence charging and fighting has stopped. The neighbor dogs stay far away from the fence and so do mine. The backyard has become enjoyable again.
A tad disappointed. Not working that well. Started well, but only in the beginning. 2nd week, it didn't seem to phase the dogs. Bought two to make sure we cover the range, but doesn't seem to help. It also drains the batteries pretty fast.
Can create other problems! By BeagleMom on Feb 16, 2020 I bought this brand new and verified working and used it on lowest setting. Unfortunately, my Beagle boy could care less about the noise. But it definitely works since the group barking stopped, but my Beagle girl came in and hid in her crate, and my Plott hound mix hid under coffee table trembling for hours. Now both girls are scared to go outside and I have to physically take them out. As soon as my Beagle boy barked once (and machine was off) my Plott tried desperately to get in the door and started shaking. Next day and girls are still nervous, machine is off and put away, and my girl Beagle peed inside rather than telling me she needed to go out. It may have curbed the barking, but dealing with 2 scared dogs is not worth it. Now I need to make outside positive again and work to get their confidence back. Better to work with a trainer on barking if it is your own dog, and reward with treats or toys when they get quiet on command. In the mean time, if just occasional to alert that someone is coming up to fence or house, they can bark. And I don't let them stay outside if they start barking at everything moving- like squirrels or dogs way down the street. While it may work for some, not worth "ruining" your dog by causing fear or pain for doing what comes natural to dogs. I didnt realize that before buying it and wished I had thought more about it first. Positive reinforcement is a much better way to encourage wanted behavior in your dog.
We have had this for a little over a month and has not done much for our two energetic English Springers. They love to "talk"while outside when playing. We have a neighbor who like to call the cops for barking, we we're really hoping this would help so we could be outside playing with them now that the weather is warmer. It does however drive our teenager crazy. She can hear it when it goes off,so we know it is working.
We bought this bark box for our 6 month old German Shepard. It worked for maybe a month. Everytime she barked the ultrasonic sound would reduce her to a whimper almost immediately. Now. A month on its either not working (changed the batteries many times) or she is immune to it.
We have turned it up to its max and she drives everyone crazy with her barking.
When we purchased the outdoor ultrasonic bark control it was amazing. Our two dogs didn't bark at the birds anymore, the neighbor dogs didn't bark at our dogs barking, and quiet was restored in the neighborhood. This lasted almost exactly 2 months and then it no longer worked. I changed the batteries, but they all began barking again. I have the apparatus under a cover so it does not get rained on, or sit in extreme sun. For the life of me, I cannot figure out why it suddenly stopped working. I tried to return it to the feed store where I purchased it, but they will not take it since it has been over 30 days. I told everyone I met about how wonderful the product was, I hope they didn't go out and buy it!
It worked for the first week, I have my two dogs in a yard in the city it doesn’t work on. Nor does it work on my neighbouring dogs that bark. Waste of money.
Not only did this bark control not work at all, the battery only lasts for less than a week! Yet, the manual says average battery life is 2 months! I had a great place to install this at the corner of my house, about 4' up only 15' away from the neighbor's fence where their dog constantly barks at family members or my quiet dog whenever any of us walk out the door. So far after 15 days, it's made no difference and I'm on my 3rd battery already!
I bought one if these about 10 years ago. It worked great for the 2 dogs I had then. It had to be replaced, so I thought I'd buy a new one for my small dog who barks constantly. This one does nothing to stop it. It doesn't work on my bloodhound or bassethound either. I'm very heartbroken.
Bought the unit to stop the dog from barking every time he hears something. This does not work tried every frequency . Useless and paid full price. Ugh

Our two dogs and neighbors dogs bark constantly, while the light on indicates operation. Changed batteries, exchanged, bought a difference model, no difference. THREE "ultrasonic" units, serial and simultaneous, did nothing. Only the shock models work.
Don't waste your money or time, worthless product...
Attached product to fence top directed toward three barker's, they bark non stop day and night, left it up for a solid week, nothing changed, the device was only a few feet from the dogs, it made absolutely no difference. In 1-10 ten being the best it was a minus -5 in performance....
